So, long story short, I'm really kinda in need of a bit of extra moolah.

I've thought about a lot of things I could do for some extra money. I thought of taking commissions, but I just am not confident enough in my own work yet to make costumes for other people. (Though depending on how simple it is, I might do something... I dunno)
I also thought of something I could make for a relatively cheap amount of money. Then I remembered Tokomon. I really did enjoy making him, and I think if they were simple plushies like Tokomon I'd be able to afford doing it while making a profit.

In addition, I'll have a lot of spare time to make this things, since it seems I won't be getting many hours in at work. >.< In addition the classes I'm taking are online, so like I said, a lot of spare time to work on these things.

My question is, how much would you be willing to pay for this plushie. I was thinking in the $10-$15 range and then shipping would probably be about $5-$10 (I'd need to look into how much it would be for a little box to fit the plushie in. )

Here's a refresher of what my Tokomon looked like.

Now that I know what I'm doing I could probably make it again with a slightly better result.

And any other idea's of something simple I could probably make and sell for a decent amount of money would be awesome. :D

P.S. I'm also thinking of selling some of previous costumes for a bit of cash too (Possibly Kurama, Deidara, maybe Akito or Fai, maybe even Gojyo and Meryl [I'd like to re-make them both] ... and a few others). Just costumes that I'm probably never going to wear again that I think are decently made craftsmanship wise. I just dunno if I'd feel comfortable selling costumes that I'd worn before, ya know?) What would you expect to pay for some of these? I'd even include the wig on some of them(washed of course. XD )

I wouldn't mind having a mask made.

or maybe a plush of one of my characters.

What everyone else said is true. People will pay good money for well done cosplay. Have you seen the crap they get away with selling on ebay? D:

Definitely sell plushies! I used to do that (but just regular stuffed animals) and I was surprised at how much I got. (Especially at the time when I lacked the experience). If you decide on a game plan for selling, I'd be happy to help spread the word. Us cosplayers have to stick together since we're always in a money bind! xD

That's true... though I don't think I'll be selling a lot of my stuff for as high as they are.. since it's been worn before. XD;

Oh really? That's pretty cool! And awesome that would be amazingly helpful. I actually went out and bought a few things to get started, and already patterned out quite a few plushies. :D

Maybe not as high, but definitely don't price it like cheap party city crap. Your stuff always looks so well made! Be proud of it! :]

I don't know if it would help much, but I can leave a few journals/bulletins/messages around with other friends to see if they'd be interested.

People will pay good money for your cosplays, some people can't sew and are willing to pay a LOT for stuff with your level of craftsmenship.

I think making things to sell is a great idea :) and perhaps for plushie ideas some of the more basic pokemon that have come out in recent generations? They'd be small and easy to do. Or at least the other basic form digimon. Generally I'd say make what will be most recognizable and also cute (cuz people tend to buy cute stuff lol)
Also, don't underestimate what people will pay for costumes either. You've got pretty high quality stuff in your closet, and even if you've worn them once or twice they're still marketable. As long as they're in good condition (and don't smell like old socks) you can probably sell them for about as much as you paid to make them in the first place, if not a little more.
I wish you luck in your endeavors, and if I get my job at Joannes soon enough then I may just purchase something from you as well ;]
